Dievas 6Steel is a proprietary case-hardening process developed with a specialist metallurgy partner. It treats the surface of a machined 316L stainless-steel case through a controlled, low-temperature process involving carbon diffusion.
The process increases the carbon concentration at the surface over time. It is a different treatment from UltraWerk, which is used on our Grade 5 titanium watches.
The aim is to improve resistance to everyday scratches while retaining the character of the steel case. Surface hardening does not make a watch scratch-proof: knocks, abrasive materials and normal wear can still leave marks.
