Tailor made for professional pilots is the new dual time zone Voyageur GMT by Dievas Watch Company. Bold and clear being the apparent direction taken up by the designers, it was evident from the very beginning what was to be expected of this project. Starting from afresh, we designated a 3-piece case for customization options and ease of serviceability with a good 45mm size for function. The case is CNC-ed in Germany, entirely out of Grade A 316L Stainless Steel. Each case is further refined by hand to attain that brilliance and sharpness usually associated with only the best. Then the case is put through another QC check to eradicate the smallest of imperfections before going for the Dievas 6Steel treatment.
Dievas 6Steel™ is a propriety case hardening process developed by Dievas Watch Company in collaboration with our specialized high tech metallurgy partner. Firstly, our premium 316L CNC watch case is heated in a mixture of carbon gases at precised low temperature to allow diffusion of atoms. This intricate process is duplicated repeatedly over long hours to superimpose supersaturation and concentration of carbon. The sudden immense energy from carbon atoms accumulation results in 30µm layered hardening of the case to 1300 Hv on the Vickers scale(6 times the orignal hardness of normal stainless steel). The toughened case is then put through a vacuum chamber for plasma coating to elevate the corrosion resistance, particularly sea water and sweat immunity. This multi layering process makes the 6Steel case an ideal candidate for use in sports and diving watches.
A Dievas 6Steel™ watch is immensely resilient to scratches and knocks, prolonging the lifespan of your treasured timepiece, making sure it stays looking brand new for extended periods, even if put through the rigors of daily wear. A total of no less than 35 hours is spent making every high strength Dievas Voyageur GMT 6Steel case.
During missions, a pilot regularly flies into different timezones and very often, one loses track of time back home. To assist the pilot, it makes sense to build a watch that can track separate time zones. To do this job, we enlist the highly regarded and proven Swiss-Made automatic caliber ETA2893-2. The movement is of the Top grade, with Côtes de Genève execution on the rotor and plates, incabloc antishock system, rhodium plating, Glycodor balance and etc giving it a 42 hours power reserve. Sealing the case from the top is a thick, ultra clear sapphire crystal with Anti-Reflection coating on the inside.
Translating mechanics into time, the watch features a dial pattern with clear 1-12 Arabic numerals, reminiscences of vintage military issued cockpit timers. A special custom made hour hand with floating 'GMT' pointer, points to the outer 1-24hr markers, indicating the exact hour in your original timezone. All functions can be adjusted via the large 7mm crown. Special attention is allocated to make sure the printing on the dial is crisp and the hands of optimum quality. The dial and all the hands are filled with generous amount of Swiss made SuperLuminova to assist accurate telling of time in low light conditions.
The Dievas Voyageur GMT is ready to be worn with a 24mm leather strap with red details to match the watch.
